BB Cream - What Is This Stuff?

Recently I have been reading everywhere about this BB cream stuff and was wondering what the heck it was. Apparently it was developed for patients to use after laser treatments or peels instead of foundation. It has soothing ingredients, along with specific moisturizing agents to help the skin heal naturally, along with skin care elements that will help with future pigmentation, and it can be used instead of foundation because it can cover flaws. Intriguing  for sure I searched YouTube to see if I could find any reviews, of course there were hundreds and I got confused until I found one with guys dressed as doctors so I thought it looked more legit. And after watching this I am going to try it out. I have read a lot about bb creams and was intrigued. I went with the Skin 79 brand based on very positive reviews. I bought this one over the pink one, because on youtube, the pink one was popular with the 20 somethings. I am 41 years old and thought this may be a better try.

First of all, this is best and most surprising beauty purchase I have ever made. It went beyond my expectation. This bb cream keeps my skin moisturized and matte at the same time. I love the fact that it has spf 25 for some good protection. Since you need such a small amount of the bb cream to cover your face (one pump), I would use sunscreen underneath this in the summer just in case. It's actually an ideal tinted moisturizer because it is so light and it offers a better (medium) coverage. I am able to cover my minor spider veins, but it feels like I am wearing nothing. I love that non makeup feel.

I have received compliments from friends who ask what I am using. I have always had great skin (very lucky), but this made it even better! One easy step and it replaced my moisturizer, makeup, concealer and primer.

One drawback is that it only comes in one tone. It suits me, goes on paler initially and blends in after a few minutes as I continue with brows and mascara. I am Chinese and have light medium skin and it works. My friend who is filipino and spanish can also use this. It freaked her out initially because it looked so light. But it adjusted to her chemistry and looks completely natural.

Desert Essence Facial Cleanser

OK, so I had to pick up some face wash the other day and since I have  combination  skin with adult (let's use that word loosely) onset acne that I am currently using Retin-A for, as well as for wrinkles (UGHHH getting older is tough), I need to be careful what I wash my face with because I don't want it to dry out my skin any more than I already do. So I picked up this brand Desert Essence Cleanser which has Aloe, Cucumber, and Chamomile extracts along with Cocunut Oil. The benefits of this would be that the ingredients sooth dry skin and help it heal itself. The Cucumber, Chamomile and Aloe are soothing, while the Coconut Oil has an an antifugal effect (for people who break out, or for someone with combination skin) and also has a moisturizing benefit that helps if you are using acne products. The scent is a light citrus and it does remove makeup as well. Get a two pack for $18.37

Lactic Acid That I Really Love

I have been using this 65% Lactic Acid Peel for the past 8 months and absolutely love it! I have suffered from acne for years, along with the scars, and a lovely brown splotchy pregnancy mask (brown spots around mouth and eyes) from the pill and being pregnant that just wouldn't go away. This helped tremendously, and it comes in different strengths on the website. I have used alot of glycolic and salycilic acids in the past, so my skin was already used to peels. I especially like that you don't actually see any peeling which is great! All of the peeling is done on a cellular level, so you will feel like you have just exfoliated and your skin will have a fresh glow, but you won't have any dry or peely bits hanging off your face when you try to go to work. I do this once a week and it helps with oily skin as well as collagen production and fading brown spots.  I was reading an article in the beauty section of this months (October) Marie Claire  which has Katie Holmes on the cover, about DermTV.com. It was founded by Dr. Neal Schultz who is a New York dermatologist and has more than 200 videos and Q&A postings about skincare and dermatology. Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer

                                    I just LOVE this primer, and had been reintroduced to it by a friend that worked as an artist for them and kindly gave me a bunch of samples that lasted a long time. Well I finally ran out and for some reason couldn't see spending $30 on a tube of it. And like the total dork that I am, (or maybe it's just a bit of female indecision) decided to try about 5 other products thinking this would "save" me money in the long run, which it didn't.
