The Neil Diamond Experience.....

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend The Neil Diamond Experience in lovely Coronado with some friends. We brought KFC, and some wine, and sat outside under the trees amongst many other fans that had obviously been fans for a very long time. They even had port-a-pottys from a company called "diamond provides" which I thought was funny! The great thing about Coronado is that there were people who brought out everything including stemware for the wine (which was allowed in plain sight in a glass bottle, and is a "no-no" at almost every other public park in San Diego) to candles for their little fancy table setups. Some of them even had  portable roll out coffee tables ( I asked someone where they got theirs, and of course Crate and Barrel)  with tablecloths. It was like luxury camping, but without the "dirt" factor. Next time I wanna bring a table and set it all fancy too!

Gamer Coffee Table....

This I thought was incredibly funny! But I think I know someone who better not show it to her husband, because he may want it for Christmas, and it would be hard to fit into any decor.....

Teenage Dream......

Not sure if I believe this or not, he supposedly records all the tracks of individual sounds with his mouth, then puts them all together to sound EXACTLY like the song....just because he has recorded the individual parts and put his cute, adorable little face on 10 different screens, indicating that he made the sounds seperately without auto tune, or digital enhancement and then put them all together doesn't make me buy it. But it is entertaining.....

Sould Train Line Dance....

This was always my favorite part of Soul Train as a kid, I was mesmerized by every dance move, and loved the long SOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLL TRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINNNNNN part at the end................

Dog Beach Coronado....

My adorable (comedian) son and my dog Ruby decided to go to Coronado dog beach today. I had to face my fear of Ruby being eaten by a big dog and force myself to go. Jonah had fun in the waves and I threw Ruby's ball out in the water. Then a wave that was higher than the 7 inches tall that she is, took Ruby underwater and freaked her out. I think she was a little bit overwhelmed with all of the other large dogs. She stayeds right by me most of the time. She ran around a bit off leash but after an aggressive dog fight broke out between two large german shephards I knew we should go.  After dog beach we went over to Il Fornaio where there is a small quant beach right by the restaurant where we decided to have our picnic. Ruby dug in the sand, while Jonah played in the water. There were a couple of very cute little girls building a sand castle that asked if they could share my grapes (of course I did they were adorable, only 4 and 5) It was a really nice day, and I got to spend it with two of my favorite people (yes, I consider my dog a person) in the world!

Mystic Tan in a Bottle....

This stuff is awesome!!! I got a sample size today at my local beauty supply, and thought I would try it out when I got home. I sprayed it on my arms and they were instantly golden bronze with a hint of shimmer along with a light coconut smell. This is great for people who want to avoid the sun, or can't afford mystic tan treatments which can be upwards of $60, but don't want to wait for their self tanner for 2 hours. You just apply it after a shower let it dry and go out for a night on the town looking like you have been on vacation for a week, great stuff! Get it on Amazon Sex Symbol Aerotan  for under $12....

Designers Salute to Hollywood.....

This would have been great to see, I love decorating and can never get enough inspiration. These are all window displays to celebrate Hollywood on La Cienega, each designer was inspired by a movie or era, Sponsored by ELLE DECOR.....

Los Angeles became even more glamorous last week when nearly 40 interior designers and set decorators took over the windows of the sensationally chic La Cienega Design Quarter. At dozens of trendsetting showrooms—from Hollyhock to Baker, Downtown to Hollywood at Home—crowd-pleasing vignettes interpreted classic movies and television programs and kept visitors entranced morning, noon, and night. Sponsored by ELLE DECOR, the annual event, known as Legends of La Cienega, brought out the design world's best and brightest. Go to Designers Salute Hollywood to check out more of the images on ELLE DECOR.....

JCPenney Launches MNG by Mango.....

This is great! Now Parkway Plaza has a Sephora right inside JCPenney, and now Mango is coming so cool!!!

MANGO is an international brand dedicated to the design and commercialization of fashion, aimed at urban women aged 18 to 40 and is one of Spain's top two exporters in the textile sector. The firm began its international expansion in 1992 with the opening of two franchises in Portugal. Today, it is present in 100 countries in all five continents with 1,500 stores. Thanks to its rapid international expansion, the company has fulfilled its aim: to have a store in every major city in the world. MANGO ended the 2009 financial year with a turnover of 1.48 billion euros, a figure that corresponds to Retail Sales excluding VAT for both company and franchise-owned stores. Furthermore, the MANGO/MNG Consolidated Group turnover was 1.15 billion euros, a figure that corresponds to Retail Sales excluding VAT for company-owned stores, plus wholesale sales to franchises. Given the major international presence of the brand, 78% of turnover corresponds to foreign markets, and the remaining 22% to the domestic market.

Mulberry for Target.....

The Cut reports that It-Bag brand Mulberry will be the next designer handbag collaboration for Target. We love the look and heft of Mulberry bags, and can't wait to see whether the distilled collaboration holds up to usual Go International quality. The line will be available online and in-stores on October 10.

Madagascar Baobabs...

No this is not a computer screen saver..... This is in Madagascar, and I have never seen trees like this AMAZING!!!
The Avenue or Alley of the Baobabs is a prominent group of baobab trees lining the dirt road between Morondava and Belon'i Tsiribihina in the Menabe region in western Madagascar. Its striking landscape draws travelers from around the world, making it one of the most visited locations in the region. It has been a center of local conservation efforts, and was granted temporary protected status in July 2007 by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, the first step toward making it Madagascar's first national monument.
Along the Avenue are about a dozen trees about 30 meters in height, of the species Adansonia grandidieri, endemic to Madagascar. Baobab trees, up to 800 years old, known locally as renala (Malagasy for "mother of the forest"), are a legacy of the dense tropical forests that once thrived on Madagascar. The trees did not originally tower in isolation over the sere landscape of scrub but stood in dense forest. Over the years, as the country's population grew, the forests were cleared for agriculture, leaving only the baobab trees, which the locals preserved as much in respect as for their value as a food source and building material. The area is not a national park, and the trees are threatened by further deforestation, effluent from encroaching rice paddies and sugarcane plantations, and brush and forest fires. Despite its popularity as a tourist destination, the area has no visitor center or gate fees, and local residents receive little income from tourism. Conservation International in partnership with Fanamby, a Malagasy NGO, has launched an ecotourism project aimed at conservation of the area and economic improvement for the local community.

Ultimate Skybox at Diamond View Tower.....

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be invited by one of his high school classmates and long time friends 40th birthday party. It was held at a venue where they sometimes have weddings, and only rent it out for special occasions. I had never been there before so I was excited to see the venue. It was amazing! We were on the 15th floor of the Cox building and we could see everything! The baseball field at Petco Park, The Coronado Bridge, and the entire San Diego skyline. My camera battery was about to die so I took the photos before the guests arrived. It was a great party, with a special guest singer who sounded exactly like Norah Jones (apparently she sings at Anthology on a regular basis) a dedication made by Gary's (the birthday boy) mother and family, and a DJ. The food was really nice we had hordouvres, and after that some wonderful petite desserts that were fantastic! If I could afford to have my 40th birthday party there I definitely would!
